Once in Fiji, supplies are shipped around the islands by smaller ship
or by plane. The precious cargo is off loaded by hand, very often
right onto the beach. |
| On larger islands, the supplies are trucked to the various villages
in crates or on pallets. Either way, the supplies are eagerly received
and there is little trouble in finding help to unload the treasured items. |

The arrival of a new shipment from Words for the World
means new and updated learning materials as well as a welcome break form
the daily routine. |
| The school materials are as well received as the visitors that bring
them. Everyone is ready to pose for a picture. They're hoping to
be the first to dig into the boxes to see what surprises await. |

Even the school staff finds useful donations. Manual typewriters,
mimeograph machines, and teacher reference books are very helpful.
Where there is little or no electricity, only manual equipment can be used. |
| Times like these give one reason to ponder the deeper questions in
life like, "What wonders do the larger world hold?" The new books
and teaching materials will provide new and interesting lessons for the
teachers as well as the students. |
